Things are very busy over here (when are they not) so keeping this one short. Lots of new projects in works for Ebel Studio!
But first, a party.
My friend Yazzy turned 30 this month and I got to design the party! The brief I gave myself was Euro summer, inspired by her recent Substack. I designed an invitation (above) and built the vibe around tapas and Italian summers. Fun plates and little design touches called back to the theme. Aperol Spritz was the house cocktail, served alongside a big batch of focaccia and plenty of homemade appetizers.
Few details I want to talk about:
Aperol Spritz
I made a big batch of Aperol Spritz for the party and decorated them all cute. Here was the recipe we used!
Custom ribbon
I got a ribbon label printer and I am now insufferable about it. We printed “Yazzy’s 30th!” on satin ribbon and tied one around the stem of every glass. A little printed ribbon turns a regular wine glass into something that feels special and branded. I’m already scheming all the ways to use this for future events!
Cherry candles
Kept her cake really simple with little red cherry candles from Etsy, ringed around in a circle. I saw these at a boutique recently and love all the different wax fruit candles, especially when you don’t want to decorate this is an easy alternative that looks adorable!
The thing I keep coming back to in event work, and it’s the same thing I believe about branding as well, is that a few intentional details can go a long way. A ribbon, a cherry, a special drink. The small details are what elevate a gathering from a party to an event, and the most meaningful moments are the little gestures, not the big ones.
Happy birthday Yazzy!! Everyone go follow her substack!
More soon!
